Prime Minister Narendra Modi's advice to Farmers(May26, 2015)

PM Modi has advised the Indian farmer that he should spend 1/3 of his income on farming, another 1/3 on Fodder yet another 1/3 on Growing Timber  Income from Timber will take 25 years: The average size of a farm holding as per statistics in this country is 1.15 hectacre:You devide it by 3,you get the size for each operation : The PM is thinking of farmers like Badal & Pawar, who drive in imported SUV and are benami farmers.who own benami farmlands. Now daughters get an equal share along with sons. The women ownership has been increasing from 11.70 %(2005-06) to12.78 %(20110-11)The small & marginal holdings constituted 85% in 2010-11 : The huge expansion in holdings has resulted in a  steep fall in average size : The Banks should step in & inance, consolidation of holdings,by granting cheap loans;A small percentage of farmers get the benefit of state largesse by way of  form of free water, subsidized fertiliser, electricity & procurement : The surplus labour can only be absorbed in construction industry,by building/rebuilding rural infrastructure( labourers with low marketable skills) The share of agriculture in GDP has been declinig from 60% is now about 13.5% :The live stock sector is 3.92:In the un organised sector, like small vendorsviz beedi makers, diamond cutters & polishers at HOME (94 %) The organised sector(those who get middle class wages, like DA,LTA & Medical benefits)are already well off. They work for less than 8 hours a day & for 200 days in a year.We are focusing on them : The Data clearly indicates that the Agricultural labourers are moving out of the farm sector at an accelarated rate. : The PM is out of touch with the reality like his predecessors :
